P e r s o n a l i t y:

Hana likes to think of herself as a laidback kind of chick. She likes to smile and have fun with her friends, and even cause a little bit of trouble. Hana is loyal and will stick up for and defend her friends, and will take the blame for things she didn’t do, especially if the bad idea was hers in the first place. Hana is strong, confident, and competitive. She likes being challenged and will not go down without a fight. Though she isn’t one of the smartest, Hana works very hard in maintaining her grades(she keeps In mind that if she gets bad grades she’ll be dropped from the Volleyball team and ultimately lose her scholarship!). Hana has been known to be quite stubborn, not liking being told what to do by people who don’t have that authority, and is not afraid to tell it like it is, earning her the title as “blunt”. She can be sarcastic at times, and can hold quite a temper if provoked, but Is not intentionally mean. She is very open-minded and wants to live life to the fullest. She likes to playfully tease her friends and joke around and pull pranks. Hana does have a loving, caring, sensitive side to her but no one has seen it and lived to tell…

B i o g r a p h y:

Hana’s father is a Navy Seal, and was stationed in the U.S before Hana was born. Her father is originally from Japan, while he met her mother, who is African-American, in the States; and she has one older brother. When Hana turned 14 her and her family moved back to Japan due to her father being reassigned there. Since she loved traveling to new places, Hana was thrilled when she found out—it would give her a chance to meet new people as well as become more familiar with the place that her father called “home”.

While growing up, her brother would babysit her often while their parents attended their time-consuming jobs, which helped the two form a close relationship. She idolized her brother and went through great lengths to “Be like him”, which caused her to dress boyish, and act boyish as well. Upon starting elementary school, Hana’s boyish ways caused her to be teased thoroughly by other the girls, who would call her “Tomboy!” or “BoyGirl!” As time went on, the more Hana tried being friends with them the more they teased her, sometimes not even about being a tomboy. They started to tease her her about her appearance, or her weight, or her skin color, calling her a “halfie” or a “mutt”. One time, Hana was cornered by a couple of girls who bullied her at school, but was rescued by her brother, who scared them off. This encounter caused Hana to stay clear away from girls, and it also motivated her to be strong, courageous, and awesome, like her bother.

As Hana got older, she became quite the athletic star; She had joined many sports teams (Volleyball being her favorite) and began to not really care what others thought of her. She was who she was, the rough-and –tough chick, and that was that. Always being told to be true to herself, and forgive and forget, Hana learned to ignore the teasing, and even tried to become friends with the ones who bullied her. While she continued to hang out with the guys, she did start making more girlfriends during her middle school days.

Despite being bullied, Hana grew up to be quite out-going, adventurous, energetic, and charismatic about almost anything. She soon decided that she wanted to live life, and being upset over things that happened in the past would only slow her down. Upon hearing that her family would be re-stationed to Japan, Hana took this opportunity to start fresh, wanting to make this new life adventure the best that she could, which was one of the main reasons why she became so interested in Tachiwaka High—she wanted to be daring and try something new! Even though some people had tried to discourage her from applying, but because of her strong personality, Hana wanted to prove those people wrong. Knowing that she wasn’t as strong when it came to her school work, Hana worked extra hard in the sports department, scoring a scholarship because of her superior talent in Volleyball.
Hana wants to start her new adventure off right, by studying hard, working hard, and playing hard!

→O t h e r I n f o:

-One of Hana’s nicknames, “Hatchin” (pronounced Hah-cheen), is from an anime that she and her brother watched called Michiko
to Hatchin, which was about a little girl named Hana who went on an adventure to find her father with a woman named Michiko, who had a previous relationship with Hana’s father before he disappeared. Michiko calls Hana “Hatchin” for fun, and it has no real meaning to it. Since Hana shares the same name as Hatchin, and she was Hana’s favorite character, she requested that be her nickname as well.

-Hana cannot cook, at all. She believes that she can, and she tries to, but alas…she just can’t seem to get the hang of it!

-Hana is between a Tsundere and a Kuudere , which is someone who is quite blunt and cynical and seems to not care about much on the outside, but is sweet and caring on the inside, and is only witnessed with the people she cares most about.

-Hana sometimes feels uncomfortable around other girls.

-Hana is the shortest out of her friends, and is the shortest on the volleyball time. Despite her height Hana acts as if she’s taller than everyone, and she doesn’t like it when people get on her about her height.

-She acts stand-offish to guys she likes.

-Hana is fluent in Japanese, English, and French. Since growing up mostly around English Hana still slightly struggles with Japanese, and is coached by her father and brother.

-Though Hana considers herself a tomboy, she loves wearing skirts, and loves putting her twist on the latest trends. When she’s home alone she likes to dress up and pretend that she’s a “kawaii idol girl”. She hasn’t been caught…yet.

-Hana has a large collection of Doujinshi and Shoujo manga stacked high in her closet that no one knows about.

-Hana doesn’t like picking fights, but she’ll fight if she has to. If you want to duke it out with her, she much prefers to do it through fighting games.

-She likes hanging around others who are positive and are as outgoing as her.

-Has a thing for bad boys ohmygawd
